IS YOUR FIRST AID BOX UP TO SCRATCH?

As part of our compliance and policies check service when we visit early years settings we are finding that a lot of First Aid boxes are NEVER checked ( hence layers of dust sitting on them!). This results in missing items and also out of date items. Not having your first aid box checked and stocked could not only lead to being marked non compliant if inspected but it also means that you may not have important emergency supplies in the event of an accident requiring first aid!

  • The First Aid box should be checked monthly and action taken if necessary.
  • Inspectors like to see the list attached to the box
  • Use a checklist so you know when to replenish the first aid box.
  • First Aid boxes and a simple First Aid book should be provided and sited in designated areas.
  • First Aid boxes should be stored in places which are easily available to all adults, but beyond the reach of children.

We have a number of compliance packs available on our shop to help you keep up to date with all your paperwork and records.

A first aid box checklist is included in our popular HEALTH PACK
