There is a lot of activity on our Facebook and website for job adverts. A small selection of tips for prospective interviewees may assist in your preparations:
- Be prepared
- Dress smartly
- Arrive on time
- Find out something about the service who are interviewing you
- Check out if they have a Facebook page or website
- Did you get a Job Description? Review it thoroughly and ask yourself how you could give examples in response to the various duties outlined.
- Promote yourself – what achievements have you in your current work environment
- Where any duties delegated to you in your current role for example Fire Officer, Health & Safety Officer etc.
- Think of the interview as a conversation between people about working in childcare
- Be yourself – don’t forget everyone is nervous at interviews
- Be confident – a smile and firm handshake will assist you.
- Even if you are not successful – there are job opportunities out there!
- Learn from the experience ask for feedback and use the learning for the next time.
