This course, delivered by a highly experienced safeguarding trainer, ensures that all those caring for children have an awareness of child protection.
Early years staff and providers are now specified as mandated persons and relevant services under Schedule 1 and 2 of the Children First Act 2015. This course, delivered by a highly experienced safeguarding trainer, provides information, knowledge and an opportunity through group learning for early years practitioners to understand their Children First Act 2015 and Children First Guidance 2017 compliance obligations.

Anne Purcell has extensive experience in social work across mental health, intellectual disability, child protection and safeguarding training in Ireland and the UK. She has worked collaboratively at a senior level with management personnel and multiple stakeholders including early years services in identifying gaps in child protection practice and policy compliance. In her former Tusla post from 2001-2016 she acted as advisor on Children First compliance and as a safeguarding tutor and trainer. Anne currently works as a barrister in general practice, and is a member of the child care law reporting project.
